ok, this isn't really a corvette thread, but i can't work on my vette until i finish the wifes car. i have to replace the lifters and cam in my wifes camaro. do i have to do a cam break-in even though it has roller lifters?
I know I should reply since I never owned a roller cam, but the break in should be minimal for a roller setup. Normally the lifters do not have to be changed on a roller setup unless there was a problem.

I definately would. You still have bearings and journals which need to "get to know each other" plus the roller to cam lobe contact is new.
IF the cam is OK you should be able to pop in the new lifter and not have to 'break it in' but I would be concerned that the old damaged lifter might have caused damage to the cam. Do you know what caused the lifter to fail?
