Default Cam Guidance (#2) TDC question

I turned the engine over so the timing mark is at TDC and dist rotor pointing to #1. My question is this:

Since I am running approx 18 degrees advance initial timing, do I leave the timing mark on TDC or 18 BTDC?

I am trying to set the dist in right position before i pull it out. Thanks in advance.

Set it in the firing position: 18 degrees. This makes re-installation cake.

Put a mark on the dist base, the intake and dist inside lip where rotor points and that should get you pretty close when you drop it again. Best to retime it anyways once you are done so trying to drop it exactly is not important.

But I do defer to the almighty Lars.
