Holley505: GameshowBob also has a nice website that probably has some info that Jeff and I don't have on ours. He's running ZO6 manifolds on his car. http://corvetteforum.net/c3/gameshowbob/

(I haven't heard from GSBob in a while. Last time I got an e-mail from him was probably close to a year ago and it didn't seem like he was working on the car much. I think it was running but not finished.)

With that cam, forget the Edelbrock setup. GM has a single plane carb manifold for the LS1 and MSD will be selling the ignition setup separately. MSD builds the Edelbrock version but their own will be much more tuneable (may be via laptop).
Yes I have seen that setup as well... But I want keep it simple... nothing tricky just straight forward.

Edelbrock just came out with a Vic JR setup to go against the GM single plane unit.

Here are a few shots of the heads

nice huh?

I had to grind down the lower egr port to make the F-body manifold work. You can see the shine grind marks in this pic.

Buddy,
You put those manifolds on all rusty like that?

I at least shot them with some high temp paint first...

I ended up cutting off the EGR and AIR ports and plug welded the holes closed. I couldn't get them to stop leaking so that was the easiest thing to do.

There short timers. There going to look pretty sitting in the bottom of the trash can when I finish the headers. Yours look alot better.

So the easist way to go with manifolds... is the corvette ones? The f-body ones? or a mix of corvette and f-body??

Probably F-body. If you can wait that long, you can go fish those out of Buddy's garbage can and have them for free!!!

what did you pay for your pulley setup from S&P??

Also... did you have any issues with the factory tach or water temp or other gauges? I wanna definitely keep the factory look inside and out.

Anything from S&P is $$.

Buddy has had good luck with the '81 Vette water temp sensor. I have the "Volvo" sensor and it's off by 30* or so.

The tach signal from the computer is electronic (and 4-cylinder), so you need to convert it to mechanical. This will do it for you for ~$300.

I they have several pulley setups? not sure which one would be better... maybe I can just get by with the factory setup?

Correction. I used a 82 vette water temp sensor and it reads high by about 5 to 10 degrees. Here is what I did for a thermo housing.

I just cut the neck at 45 degrees and turned it 180 and rewelded it. Works prefect.

I stand corrected...

For my water neck, I got a part from some GM vehicle (I still haven't figured out what it's from) that came out more straight. Check out this thread for pics and a description.

For the pulleys, we are all using the stock F-body ones. Jeff created a custom alternator mount that mounts it high on the driver's side. It's made from a couple of 1/4" plates of aluminum. Pics are on my site.

Hey guys, I have a wiriring question for you. Where did you pull the power for the coils from? I guess the option is to get it straight off the battery or from the starter or maybe the alternator. That would be useful info.

My main power comes from the Starter + post then to a fuse block in the harness.

Scooter - You still haven't figured out that water neck yet!

And there is a factory water neck out there that GM makes that will work!

Thanks for all your help guys!!!

I relocated the radiator overflow and put it there. It's tucked under the fender as far as I could get it.
