Default Air Cleaner

I'm putting a Barry Grant carb on my 383. Does anyone know the part number for a drop base air filter that fits unded a stock small block hood?

It really depends on what intake manifold your using. You need to measure your hood clearance from the carb. Take some clay and put it on top of the front float bowl and close the hood. This will show you how much clearance you have to work with.

Having said that, Moroso's air cleaners seam to flow well and are fairly short. The center of the top dips down in the center for improved air flow but it also helps with clearance for the wing nut. I'm using one on a ZZ4 (dual plane manifold) with a 650 Speed Demon carb.

I bought my drop base air cleaner setup off of eBay for about $25 new. Just search for "SBC Drop Base"
