Default 2 simple questions, request pics, please

1: What were the original valve covers on 69 small blocks? Stamped steel?

2: Was Marina Blue a color option for 69? Any links to a pic of it?

Thanks guys,
Cris

The blue in '69 was LeMans Blue. Here is a link that I like for Vette facts and pics:

69 Valve covers were stamped steel on base engine Vettes and they were cast aluminum for L-46 350/350 engines. The same aluminum covers were also used on Z/28's that year. People like to add the aluminum covers to just about everything else ever since but they were only used originaly on optional SHP Vettes and Z/28's.

This is correct, but here's a little more information about the aluminum valve covers. In 1969, these valve covers were delivered in an as-cast finish which looked slightly "satin" or dull in luster. From '70 onward they were polished and more shiny. If you are shooting for an original appearing '69 L-46 engine then you need to have the as-cast finish on the valve covers. Jerry MacNeish does a wonderful job refinishing these covers to their original appearance. His website is http://www.z28camaro.com if you are interested.
