Sticky Steering Wheel
I just bought a used Comfort Grip steering wheel to put on my C2. I think these were used on 68-72 C3s. The rim is very sticky and I am having a hard time cleaning it. Anyone know how to get this wheel clean? Also is there a way to tell if is an origonal wheel or a replica?

I used lots of 409 to get my wheel clean. Then I took some rubbing compound and rubs the palstic out. Steering wheel looked and felt great. About 6 months later the sticky stuff came back though. I have no idea what it is from, or why it returned...

I bought a repro from Rick's Corvette and it has been great. No sticky at all. The original had this problem and it was also broken across the top. I had to have a new wheel anyway.
