Who has a hurst shifter on their 4 speed? I am curious as to how you attached the actual shifter to the transmission? Direct bolt on? If so, then how did you attach the 2 piece shifter mount/trans mount bracket??

The Hurst shifter comes with its own bracket/plate that bolts to the existing shifter hole pattern in the side of the tranny. The shifter then bolts to this plate. The Hurst shifter does not attach to the tranny mount.
There is a rear rubber mount with 2 bolts to it right under the speedo cable connector on the tailhousing. The crossmember has 2 holes to access them from under the car.

I moved my shifter back about 4". I heated the shifer up with a torch just below the shifter boot area. It's more comfortable now as I no longer need to reach as far.
Before my TKP swap I had a Hurst in mine. It did sit back but if Itried to move ot more forward it would hit the console is 1st and 3rd gears. Mine was centered left to right just had to move it to a more "reclined" position so it would not bump the console.
