I know I may sound dumb, but headers are not really my expertise..well..I wouldnt consider myself an expert on anything dealing with cars..but I am looking into headers and was just wondering what the main differences between long tube headers and shortie headers were...
From what I have read and been told, long tube headers will allow better gas flow through the heads and a bit more power than short tube headers. The drawback is a lot of exhaust tubing in the engine compartment. I personally just went from long tubes to block huggers (ceramic coated) and not only is there more room to work on things but under hood temps went down dramatically. Good luck
Are you subject to smog testing in your county? Before you make any mods to your car, be sure to find out what the inspection station will be looking for. Even if the car is exempt from testing, they still may want to check for a catalytic converter.
Or you could just get antique plates...if you're not using the car as a daily driver...

Im in Harris county..but i have a pretty good set up with an inspection place my friend works at..it wont be a problem getting it inspected..thats the last worry on my mind..
Okay. Get a set of Dynomax ceramic coated headers -- the ones for the C3 are long tube. And hook them up to a 2.5" true dual exhaust system...although you may have trouble finding an exhaust shop in Harris County that will do the job (due to smog regs) -- plan accordingly.
