When I drive my 69 (350/300 automatic) It runs really well, and idles at about 900 RPM, but it likes to die if you accelerate and then let off of the pedal. As it begins to slow down in it's coast, especially once you stop at a sign or light, it will often just die. It seems worse when the engine is warm, as opposed to cold.
It has the original engine, and runs really well, but I wonder if the carb needs some adjusting, or a rebuild?

You should be able to rebuild it. I just did mine a couple of weekends ago. It took me 1 day to remove, clean, rebuild and remount. It is a fairly straight forward job. I bought the rebuild kit at Autozone, but NAPA carries them as well. The instructions included with the kit were excellent. Make sure you buy a new float, as it is not included with the kit (thats one of those 'While I'm here' items).
Oh, and your carb could be leaking fuel or air. If your not smelling or seeing gas, it is probably a air leak.
