pull plates vs. aluminum intake - recommended?

As far as aluminum, if the bolts are threaded in two and a half times the bolt diameter, the aluminum is as strong as the bolt. One and one-half times for cast iron. So don't worry about the plates. Well let's see...before this manifold plate was invented people were using bolts screwed into various positions of the block without any major disasters for MANY years. At least, I never saw any posts here (or anywhere else for that matter) about engines crashing down on the front of the car or the garage floor. So obviously the engineering theory seems to be negated by practical useage. At any rate, I never have any engineers handy when I'm yanking out an engine
So I'll stick with the grade 8 3/8th bolts screwed in the block or heads.
