pull plates vs. aluminum intake - recommended?

True, but from another engineer's perspective, the leverage required to tilt the engine is much more easily accomplished when using bolts in the heads - especially if you *really* want to tilt the engine like when installing engine and transmission together...

Well let's see...before this manifold plate was invented people were using bolts screwed into various positions of the block without any major disasters for MANY years. At least, I never saw any posts here (or anywhere else for that matter) about engines crashing down on the front of the car or the garage floor. So obviously the engineering theory seems to be negated by practical useage. At any rate, I never have any engineers handy when I'm yanking out an engine
So I'll stick with the grade 8 3/8th bolts screwed in the block or heads.

I have been using the same plate for 25+ years and will continue to do so!!.......I always pull the motor & trans together.......redvetracr
