quick help, removing temp sender

Default quick help, removing temp sender

im trying to remove the temp sender on my 76. i can't find the right socket, does anyone know what size socket i need? thanks

I wanna say 7/8" but not 100% sure. Try getting a line wrench (or a box-end wrench) on it. Using a socket could round it off without you even knowing it.

definitely not 7/8. i think its closer to 15/16. thanks

I am not sure which sending unit you have. But I bought a socket from my favorite tool vendor that was made for sending units. It has a thinner wall and a larger area deep inside that allows the sending unit to fit. My regular sockets would not fit without damaging the sending unit.

i didn't know they had a socket specifically for sending units. the stock sending unit is 15/16. i purchased a socket, and it came out fine. i can't wait to get all the new autometer gauges installed and working! i'm almost there. thanks
