So I finally got around to starting to install the weatherstripping I just got from the group purchase. For some reason, I decided to start with the T-tops. I unscrewed the 4 screws on the passenger stripping, (lots of rust on the stripping's internal support) and noticed that the black paint on the t-top frame has bubbled in a couple of spots (corrosion on an aluminum frame?)
Is it worth the effort to try to competely disassemble the frame from the t-top and clean it up (i.e. buff off the corrosion & repaint)? If so, how do I get the frame apart from the glass without breaking it?
If it's not worth it, how do I get the remnants of the old weatherstrip & goo off?
This isn't quite the "I did the whole car in less than an hour" that I have read about... *sigh*
i scraped the old glue off with a razor and a chem, remover my friend gave me to use while it was in his body shop,,my complete kit(9 pc) took a little over a hour and it was the first time i did weatherstripping,

A little over an hour? Did that include removing the old? Did you use any of the special weatherstrip tools?
