Default Radiator clean out

I have a 76 with the original radiator, looking down the cap hole it looks like scale has built up on the inside. Any one have their radiator boiled out? Or should I just get some type of cleaner/scale remover? My rad does not leak (that I know of) but I just pulled it to do some other maintenace and hate to put it back in without cleaning it.
Also with the problems of what to do with with the fluids if I try to flush it in my garage.

any advice would be greatly appreciated..

depends on $$$ you want to spend...if your are willing to spend whatever doing it "all out" didtates have it boiled....if you are alittle more conservative and if its not creating a problem use the most minimal approach first....

Have it boiled out and pressure tested, if there are no leaks your okay. Then you can paint it and put it back in with new hoses and a new radiator cap. If it has any leaks at all, or if it looks like it's an accident waiting to happen then replace the radiator with a new unit. You can get a brand new 3 row brass and copper radiator for as little as $175.00 new. When I pulled mine out and tested it it had a leak and had been repaired once before so I went and bought a brand new replacement unit like the one I mentioned above. After 30 yrs. of service I figured it was due, nothing lasts forever and it's cheaper to replace it then break down somewhere and possibly ruin your engine.

I just had a radiator tested, boiled , flushed, and they put a new filler top cause the overflow tube broke off and it was only 45 bucks to have them do all that and they straitened out all the bent fins too then they give it a 3 month war. too bad it doesn't fit in the car I got it for (doh)
