I had wiper problems, when I got my 71. I went to ecklers and ordered a new one, replace the old one. Nothing, nada, zip, zero. So I continued replacing all of the rest of the parts. After a while, I could not find any thing else to change, I figured it was some type of short. So I brought it in to my local mechanic, he tinkered with it, replace the solinoid, and got a motor from the local supply house. That was the ticket, the rebuilt that I got from ecklers was no good.
oh yes, the soliniod was purchased from Davies Corvette in Fla.
Just ordered my AutoZone Lifetime warranty special P/N 40-152. $54.95 + $10.00 core and a $10 shipping to get it here in 2 days. If it doesn’t show up on Saturday they will refund my shipping charge. It will be here Saturday!!!! I can't wait to get my wipers working again. I spent a day a few years ago to get my wiper door to open and close without the over ride switch only to have the motor burned out I've always liked the way Vette wipers sweep and want mine to work again. Then I don't have to worry about any clouds in the sky and have to predict the weather if I want to take the car on a trip or something.
Mine didn't arrive yesterday so the guy said he'll refund the $10 shipping charge for 2 day delivery. I wanted it this weekend but that's OK. It will be here Monday. I want to get my wipers working before next Friday. I guess I'll be spending a little time in the garage after work this week.
That would be the long single lead hanging off of it. Yours is painted black apparantly.
Take a little lacquer thinner on a rag and wipe off the black paint most likely there is a red wire under there. They don't take much care when they repaint these remanufactured motors.
