It's not only for economy.. A engine that revs lower, especially on long trips, will live longer

But Olivier...our trips are measured in seconds, and "long" is a 1/4 mile

That's what I'm hoping. At $3/gallon, and roughly a 4mpg boost, I'm looking at ~72k miles until it pays itself off
I'm hoping I'll save more on all the other parts that won't get broken on long trips.

Yeah...but we don't have to worry about idiots on cellphones. I have yet to see a racer go down the strip with a cellphone in one hand and the wheel in the other trying to dial home to find out what's for dinner

There must be a smilie for what I am doing???
Besides one shift

Talking about powerglides.. I'd rather have a powerglide than a TH400...
Ligher, stronger and eats up less HP...
If I'll get a blown big block, I'll go with a PG

Slip 'n Slide Powerglide. That's what we used to call 'em.
One big shift and that's IT.

Really? I sure see Jeg Coughlin and all the rest of the Pro Stockers still yankin' levers going down the 1/4 mile
Their times are in the high 6's.

A glide and a 5000 rpm converter puts a friend of mine into the 7's
Wanna know how many other trasnmissions he gernaded?

If I'd have over 800 HP, the glide would be the logical choice....
