I had the 71, out driving it to work today. I noticed that as soon as I touched the brakes, the steering wheel wanted to go to the left for a split-second then the brakes worked normally with no noticeable pull in any direction. I checked this several times and it always feels the same way, an instant but weak pull to the left for just a second. Seems like the left front caliper is grabbing a little. What gives?
I would lean toward either a slight fluid contamination on the left caliper brake pads, or a restricted flexible hose on the right side. Either of these will cause the pull you're experiencing.
This may be way out in left field, and at my age I may be hallucinating (sp) but I seem to remember a distant thread that suggested that the steering control valve could be the culprit. Again, this is just something I think I remember seeing; but have not experienced it. I hope others can add more credible info on this for you.

I am willing to bet you have a bad brake hose on the side thats pulling. I had a similiar problem on a 72' Vette I owned years ago. The brake hose had a tear or rip on the inside of the hose. The hose is made up of a couple of layers. The inner layer that had the rip would not let all of the brake fluid back up the hose once you took your foot off of the brake pedal so when you pressed down again it caused problems in that particular caliper. It acted like a bladder closing with the fluid stuck where it shouldn't be. I replaced the hose and my problem went away. While your at it make sure your front calipers are dry or you also could have a leak adding to your problem. If your pedal isn't going down to the floor and only pullying I doubt you have a leak but make a good visual check anyway. Good luck!
