Anyone had any experience with the Lunati Voodoo 60203? Looks like a good solid torque cam that makes good power to 5000RPM. I have the Edlebrock 7162 in there now...........

I was looking at the 60202 (219/227@.05) but I think I will go with the LUN-00021 (221/233@.05). It has a 115LSA and I think that will idle better for a street car.

It would help if you posted the specs. If it's listed to peak at 5000 RPMs it has to be pretty mild & will have plenty of torque. Are you sure you want to go that mild? You could step up a couple of notches & make alot more power while still having more than ample torque in a bigblock.

That's the one I'm using in my 427. Good cam!

Lemansblue68 - how's the idle/vacuum? I'm assunming you have gobs of torque? Desktop dyno shows over 500 lb ft from idle to 4500.

It idles just rough enough to make an unknowing bystander wonder if I've got a cam in it. I never measured the vacuum but it has more than enough to operate the power brakes and vacuum accessories. I selected it with the intent of a slightly more rumpity idle and top end than stock. The stock 390 HP cam was too mild and lift numbers too low in my opinion. I originally planned to run factory exhaust manifolds and pipes but later added headers. Since the oval port Corvette intake is a bit restrictive I didn't want to go too crazy with duration for fear of killing off low end torque with a cam that favored higher RPM's which would be in turn be strangled by the intake. I think the Lunati cam I chose was a good compromise. Crane also makes a cam with similar duration numbers, a bit narrower LSA (112 I think) and a little more lift than mine, that I thought would also be good. The Voodoo cam line wasn't available when I built my motor but a couple of those grinds, one of which you mention, look interesting. I thought the LSA was a little wider than you mention, though.

I used Performance Trends Engine Analyzer when I was trying different grinds and got similar numbers to yours, i.e. gobs of torque!

Default Voodoo cams?

I was thinking of a similar set up to yours, Leman Blue. I have a ~ stock 71 LS-5, but I am going to get the heads ported along with the exhaust and intake manifolds. The porting should open it up enough, plus with a 454 I believe I should be able to handle a fair bit of lift and duration. What do you guys reckon?
