Jet Hot coated with Spiral Turbo Baffles. I just polish them with Mother Billet polish when I do my wheels.

The Hooker mufflers will rob you of power. You end up with a 4" pipe with a 1 7/8" (I believe) passage. Can you say restriction?

www.spiralturbobaffles.com

From the site:
Car: 1969 Corvette Engine: GM 502BB, Iron rectangular port heads, hydraulic cam/220 duration@.050 and .500 lift, 8.75 to 1 compression, low rise LS6 intake, holley 750 double pumper carb, and Hooker Sidepipe Headers. Tests are RWHP figures

Base: Mufflers, HH reverse flows. 246.7 HP/388.9 torque.

2nd pull: Mufflers/ baffles, Spiral Turbo Baffles (4"). 338.5HP/408.8 torque. An increase of 92HP and 20Lbs. Ft. of torque.

3rd test: Sidepipes, no mufflers or baffles. Wide open tubes. 342.4HP/445.1 torque. Thats a high bolt on increase.

I would keep an eye on the rocker panels. When I bought my 69, both rocker panels were broken in half where the headers exit from under the car. I suppose there wasnt enough clearance from the pipes to rockers and everytime the engine was rev'd hard, the pipes must have hit the rocker panels eventually breaking them.

Is Mid America the only and the least expensive source for these systems?

Are they available in plain steel? They seem pricey, but by the time you buy hooker headers and a full exhaust system, they aren't that much more...

Mid America is one of the more expensive vendors.

For plain, go to Summit Racing or Jegs.
For coated, go to Jet Hot and take advantage of their Corvetteforum discount.
