..Just a note in general to say thanks for all the help you guys give out , .i dont post much, can find almost everything i need just by listening in and printing off the good stuff. my mechanic loves my hand full of printed postings when i bring the car to the garage .BUT i am i need of a clock repair on my 74...any help with that, .....were to send it, buy new , ..etc.etc.. .....Thanks for the help and have a good 4th ......p.s.(while im asking for help) does anyone have a 74 with a alarm that works???, and the push button starter under the hood??.....thanks again!!
The original clock in my '68 would alternately choose to run and not run as it saw fit. I ran a separate ground wire from the clock and it has run like a champ ever since.
The alarm on my '74 works. Use it all the time. It died for about 20 years for my aunt then one day I opened the door and it went off. Has worked ever since. Sometimes I have to turn the key on and off a couple of time to get the alarm to arm. The clock in my car works every time I drive it but dies about an hour after I shut off the car.
I hate to give secrets away, but To date, I got 3 GM type clocks working for about $2.95.....providing the points and electrics are good in it, Try a shot of WD-40, it has worked and the clocks are still running
So my Hurst Competition plus thread was moved but this one stays in tech/performance I DON"T LIKE THE SPLIT
BTW - My clock works because I installed the quartz kit
