Door Hinge

I am restoring a 71, it appears that when you open the passenger door all the way the leading edge of the door panel hits the lower hinge. The door opens and closes without any problems. Is this a hinge problems or a door panel adjustment?

The hinge spring should stop the door before it nicks the edge.

Easy Mike is correct. I had the same problem on my 68 and it nicked the door. My spring was missing and I didn't notice it until after the damage to the door. Replaced the spring and now it doesn't hit anymore.

Sometimes the door spring will pop out of it's lower pocket too.

I had this problem. There is a stop built into the hinge also, my body man built it up a little with some weld on the stop to make sure it will not happen again even of the spring pops out.
