Yes it will fit. That's what I have in my 68 with BB hood. Standard valve covers clear the booster and standard exhaust manifolds clear the A/C box (just barely).
So would a 572 fit? I would think you'd have to remove the booster. I'd probably want to go to hydroboost anyway.
I needed to run a stud girdle and tall valve covers so there was no way a vacuum booster was going to fit. I went hydroboost and anything will clear now.
The taller block needs a special intake, longer distributor and pushes the headers further outboard and possible steering box to header clearance.
Most avoid the tall deck blocks.
Hydro boost is a hydraulic braking assist that replaces the vacuum unit. The hyroboost runs off the power steering pump. It is an extremely powerful compact unit that comes with diesel trucks and vans. It it cheap at the autowreckers and most of the unites through the 80's and 90's are the same and almost a bolt it fit for our vets.
I provides clearance for tall valve covers and improves braking power.

Very interesting Any pictures of your setup after hydroboost installed?
