78 battery cable

The positive side battery cable. Unless I keep it just as tight as I can get it there isn't enough contact to start the car. I've checked the connections and there isn't any corrosion on the contacts. Do they make anything you can maybe put on the contacts where I wouldn't have to tighten it all the time?

This sounds like a strange problem. You can get a bottle of electrical contact cleaner at your local hardware store, but I don’t think that is it. Are your terminals on the top or side of your battery? Maybe its grounding out or shorting out.
