Anyone have any experience with these Q-Jets that Summit sells?? I am specifically looking at a Stage 2 to feed the 383 Stroker thats going in. Anyone have this combo??

I've had several of the JET Q-Jets sent to me for rebuild and setup, and they seem to be a good quality unit. The setups I've seen on the JET carbs seem to be good combinations for the intended usage, and the carbs have all run well during my testing. The carbs that are consistently set up poorly are the Holley Remanufactured Q-Jets and any "remanufactured" Q-Jet procured from AutoZone, Checker, Pep Boys, etc.
Lars, I just picked-up a Holley re-man Q-jet via Autozone for my 72 3/4 ton. Is there any particular proplem areas I should pay particular attention to when I install it? Wes

All of the Holley-built Q-Jets I have seen have had the power piston stop pin cut off the power piston. This results in the primary rods dropping too low into the jets, leaning the carb out dramatically at idle and cruise. Result is very poor throttle response and non-responsive idle mixture screws. I'd recommend popping the top off the carb and checking the power piston as well as the jet/rod combination against the carb number.
