Default Need motor help

Okay as i have posted here before about my deal with me motor. I have found that the bottle neck was my heads. Again here are the spec that the builder said the motor was.
350 bored over .30 = 355
10.5:1 Compression
Edelbrock Performer Intake with a holley 600cfm carb
Cam Specs Edelbrock Performer Rpm
Basic Operating RPM Range: 1,500-6,500 RPM
Intake Duration 050 inch Lift: 234
Exhaust Duration 050 inch Lift: 244
Duration at 050 inch Lift: 234 int./244 exh.
Advertised Intake Duration: 308
Advertised Exhaust Duration: 318
Advertised Duration: 308 int./318 exh.
Intake Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.488
Exhaust Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.510
Valve Lift with Factory Rocker Arm Ratio: 0.488 int./0.510 exh. lift

3000 Stall

The car is supposed to be about 400hp. This is going to be a daily driven street car so any advice to make go would be good. The car is weak right now it will not even spin the tires. They used the old l48 heads so what is a good seat of heads.

I am looking at the vortec heads and changing the cam so any advice is appriciated.

If you have the original 75’ L48 heads they are 76 cc heads and unless you put some monster domed pistons in, your compression is no were near 10.5 : 1. More then anything else compression = HP

Smaller cam and better 64CC heads will get you want to be, the 3000 stall is going to produce a lot of heat in the trans for a DD.

Default good cheap heads

http://www.carshopinc.com/product_in...ts_id/68/HD601

These are what I have on my 355 ci and I port matched them with the rpm air gap, 650 dp holley, comp cams 224/226 dur and 461/481 lift with 10:1 hyper pistons, stock crank, headers w/ true dual exhaust, 2100 stall converter, 3:73 posi rear and a THM 350 trans. I can spin the tires going sideways in a 4200 lbs 1978 chevy VAN for like 50 feet. These heads are cheap but were way better than the stock ones I had on the van. According to the tech guys over there these heads with accept up to a .515 lift cam without changing the springs. Oh and the van runs 15 flat in the 1/4 mile. lol !!!!

You should have the RPM intake manifold also.. the basic one is from idle to 5500

But the heads are so important. With that much cam and regular stocks heads you are not getting the power you could.

Worse case... mill the factory heads down (kills theat big chamber and make more compression with stock pistons) and pocket port the head also. 1.94 valve will do so save the money on the valve size.

thanks for the replys but as stated this car is going to be a dd so i want something that will light the tires from a dead stop. The intake is just the performer. I do not want that 3000 stall, but i still want a lumpy sounding cam in the car. I want a factory or a little above factory stall.

For some who don't mind the limited intake manifold selection and somewhat limited valve lift restrictions, they are good street heads...

Whatever you do don't install the Performer Intake, go for the Performer RPM AirGap. It won't be any less streetable but it sure will give you a lot more horsepower for your money
