Anyone have a book on what t5's came from what car? I bought a t5 but it has a 14 spline input shaft which does not seem to match any camaro disks which are all 10 or 26 spline. The guy I bought it from swears it is from a camaro but doesn't now what year. Hellllp
Sounds like a 6 cylinder "Non" World class unit.
Check the number on the tag here. You need one from a V8 car, preferably later than 1988 http://www.5speeds.com/t5/
The 14 spline T5 you are in posession is a NWC unit out of an early 4 cylinder S-10 truck. It's still a good tranny in that it will bolt right up to your small block V8 and has the same dimensions as any other chevy V8 T-5. Although it was rates at only 220 FT-LB you can put this behind a mild 350 as long as you don't abuse it too much. Now for the bad news. It's nearly impossible to find a 10 1/2 or 11 inch clutch plate in a 14 spline pattern. The S-10 came with a nine inch disc if I remember correctly. You can purchase a 12 inch, 14 spline disc which was used in 305 cu in Firebirds and Camaros, but then you'll need a bigger bell housing. Some guys have had clutch shops rivet a 14 spline hub onto a 10 1/2 inch disc. If you are stuck using a 10 1/2 inch bell housing and can't locate anything except a 9 inch S-10 disc, you can get by using a 10 1/2 clutch if you use a heavy duty pressure plate like a Ram clutch. The other shortcoming is that the S-10 input shaft is slightly smaller than the standard chevy, so you'll have to locate a special pilot bushing, which I understand is available. So if you're on a budget, you can make that tranny work.
I found out today that the Astro van v-6 uses 14t-11" but all of my setup is 10.4. Wish I new the difference before I bought, took the guys word for it.
Alright, my limited budget afforded me a 92 world class t5. I did a look up at the link you provided and it says it's out of a 93 GT Stang, but this one is definitely Camaro because of the tilt, well and I bought from a reputable junk yard. Any ideas why it would identify that way?
I believe both the chevy and ford T5's tilt. When you make the spacer plate you straighten them at that time and a '92 year model ford T5 is a good one.

I didn't realize the fords will tilted. Why is everyone straightening these? The angle is to put the shifter closer to the driver. The tranny mount is also tilted, so is everyone modifying the mount to accomodate this?

yes, modifying the tranny mount. Mounting the T5 straight allows you to use a stock GM Corvette bellhousing
