Default 77 sting,, HELP

i have a 77 with a 350 and i pulled the motor out and plan to re do the head by puttn better springs on it and refacing the valves. home the cylinder wall and rings. I have a nice set of hooker headers. I am lookn for a mild to medium cam. any sugjestions? I have a edlebrock carb but is bare bones and needs work. If I were 2 get a new carb what do u think i should look at? I am on a very tight budjet. Now here comes the big question, with this extre power will this kill my tranie or rear end,??? I got a auto trans and i think it has been serviced once. Im not sure. The transmition soundes great when i drove it, it didnt make any noise or nothing. But it has a small leak, from the pan seal i think. I would really like to leave it alone,it has 124000 miles on it. Im sorry im mauling you guys with all these questions, but i cant help it im excited!!!
P.S. whats the HP for the stock 350 for that year??? And wheres some good places to get C3 parts??

Please speak English. I have a hard time figuring out how to respond to badly written questions.

As far as parts go, there are a lot of places that sell just about anything you could need. Run a Google search for "Corvette Parts" and you'll find more vendors than you can shake a stick at.

I also have a 77. Mine is an L-82, which came with 210 hp from the factory. If you have an L-48, I believe they came with 180 hp from the factory.

I have a list of mods listed in my profile which include the cam that I went with, and I would reccomend it for a mild, to medium street machine.

I have had 5 carbs on my car since I got it and started modifying it. I have had 1 holley, 2 deamons, and 2 edelbrocks. I have nothing against holley or deamon, and I know several people who have had great results with these carbs. I however had a gas leak in my holley and other issues with both the deamons. The Edelbrocks on the other hand have been great to me, so that would be my recommendation.

I don't think that you need to worrie about your trannie or rear end with what you are doing. I think that you would need to put a little more punch through them before you need to worrie. I have a stick so I'm not positive about it, so you may need to ask for further advice.

Good luck with your project.

probably 180 hp if it were a L 48 the base motor, there are lots of cams out there, you can read magazine articles to get an idea of what you want, be careful of advertiser bias though, also look at the cam specs of crate engines and that will give you some idea of what to look for. summit and Jegs are good sources for engine parts and ecklers, corvette central mid america are all good sources for parts . You should get all the catalogs you can and then do some comparisons. i buy from everyone so i continually get catalogs. sometimes you can get discounts when you bulk order stuff. good luck

I had a CC HE268 in my mostly stock '76 a while back. Ran nice. It had an Edel. Performer, true duals, Dynomax headers, and a rebuilt stock Q-Jet. I'm still using that Q-Jet on my 383.
