I need to build a frame jig for a 1973 , I was wondering if any one here has had to build one and would have a drawing or matrial list. I'm just not sure how heavy the I-beams should be. I was planning on flipping the frame and mounting it at the body mounts. I have some major frame repair to do and want to keep it square. Or just buy another frame but I don't mind the challenge either , I searched the site but couldn't find any info

You could tack weld it to the I beams on #-2-3 body mounts and then weld braces off the beams to the front and back. Brace it good where you cut the frame. When done grind off the welds. I would look for a new frame or the front or rear section. I have a rear section in NW ohio.

Sounds bad Clarence!

You saw my car, it was in the same shape as yours sounds to be in. I found it easier to replace the frame than repair the old one.

There is a drawing around here... with measurements... I'll dig it up and email it to you. where is the frame bad? I stil have the front half of my old frame as well as tranny crossmember that's yours for the taking if you need it.... But I assume its in the back of the frame where the major issues exist though.

Does the rear section of frame include the the cross member that goes across right infront of the rear wheels.

Ya its on the drivers side in front of the rear wheel and I think I may be looking for a frame. What sucks is I spent a couple of hundred bucks sandblasting to find this out.
