Default some steering assembly questions

as i don't want to be misdirecting anyone elses thread. for my 75 pro street/ strip car. blown big block, back halved, fats and skinneys. I am researching what to do with the front end. evryone likes rack and pinion but i do't know that i will have any use for it. i will either be cruising slowley and crawling around corners or be flat our going straight on a drag strip.i know i want to dump the wieght and associated problems of power streering. talking to "corvette steering " he says all i need is to change out to a manual drag link. so i was thinking maybe tubular a arms and a change to manual is all i wll do. any ideas out there.

If weight is your major consideration, then install a Steeroids center take off type system with a manual rack and pinion gear. The original Cavaliers and Sunbirds did have manual rack and pinions available. They will bolt right into a C3 with the Steeroids brackets. The input shafts were not the same as power R&Ps however.
