so my fast idle has been up towards 2k or so in the mornings now that it's gotten colder, so i took a look under the hood. As i was messin around i bumped the fast idle cam and it dropped down. I looked closer and it just didn't seem like it had been put back together correctly or something by the last owner's mechanic. So I took a picture (nice clean carb, right? haha)...
The arrow is pointing to a piece that pivots back and forth. And under the part where the arrow is pointing, there is a rod. It just seems to me that that rod should be on TOP of the pivot doo-hickey. Am I right or is IT right?

Easier than studying your pic is to describe what is supposed to happen:
Do this: Crack the throttle a small amount, and by hand close the choke. Release the throttle (choke still closed) and then look at the linkage. The adj scew should be on the highest cam if you closed the choke all the way. That sets your high idle when the choke is on full.
Next, let the choke open fully. You want that screw to be on the LOWEST cam setting with the choke wide open...allowing for a normal idle.
