Default Windshield Washer Pump Problem

I had not ever used the w/w pump on my '71 in the 12 years I've owned the car. Heck, I didn't even have the jar and filler neck installed. Hooked it all up and didn't really expect it to work (dry seals or whatever problems from 12 years of inactivity). Low and behold, I filled her up with fluid, turned on the wipers, pushed the switch, and out it came onto the windshield after a few seconds. My glee was shortlived, however, because it apparently was not shutting off. Whenever the wipers are activated, the fluid comes streaming out.
Any ideas on the cause/solution?

Rich

Rich, that would be a broken part on the washer cam or the rod to the pump stuck to the gear drive off the wiper motor. AL.
