Hey guys, anyone have bilstein shocks on their vette.....I would like to hear some input.....are they worth the price? If, so ...where can you get a good deal on them...thanks..marty
Got mine from either Zip or MidAmerica $279, the Heavy duty, you may want to try the "Sport" mine are great except they seem a little too soft at times, but they made a GREAT improvement in ride and handling.
Most people here would not want to spend this much money, but QA1 shocks have adjustable rebound and compression damping. I suppose they are about the best that is available if you don't mind spending over $1000 on shocks. It is nice to be able to adjust the shocks rather than just pick one off the shelf with preset damping rates.
I hear alot of good about Bilstein, but I am leaning more toward Edelbrocks performer IAS shocks. I have heard a lot of good about them too, plus they offer the best of both worlds. Firm handling on smooth surface, but they soften up when you hit any bumps. What more could you want? Any input here?
Bilsteins rock. I got mine from my Porsche parts source. Worth every penny. I never knew my car could handle and ride so good, and I've owned this car for 25 years.

I know what you mean Johnny, I saw the plug for those edelbrock shocks on speedchannel one night and I liked them but I already had got the bilsteins. I haven't put them on yet but I'm sure they will be suffice.
Look, a shock is a shock, it's a liquid imersed piston in a cylinder with valving to controll bleedby...so the only thing I am concerned with is the valving....it's not rocket science...so what is the valving action of these fabulous Bilsteins everyone raves about, and how does it compare directly to the valving in my KYB's?? and if thre is that much differance, just what other than NAME makes a Bilstein so expensive, 250/set of 4 is a super high price for such a simple device, I feel, that is why I am so reluctant to buy them.....
I"m also **** sure that Monroe/Gabrial make an equivalent shock to the Bilsteins.....just need know which one to buy...
so what is the valve ratio.....Iknow it's not 90-10 like a front on a dragster,....so what IS it??
