Can one buy a complete kit that includes everything including the pump? If so , do you have the company's name? Is it Corvette Steering?
Thanks,
Fred

Corvette Steering it is. I'm going to do this next winter when I have my motor out. This year it's the full interior rebuild.

Professional grade and quality as usual Norval. Is there any concern about the solid U joint instead of tthe insulating type rag joint? I would think you need absolute alignment with the steel joint, will it transfer any vibrations?

Looks good Norval.
What did you do to mount the box to the frame? If you line the Jeep box up with the C3 attachments, one of the 4 bolts is above the frame and only 1 of the other 3 is close enough to use a C3 hole. And the C3 frame & box has a slight angle on it where the Jeep box is set up for a perfectly fore-aft frame rail.

Dave,
You must have taken a vacation the last few weeks. A previous post from Norval described in pictures and text how he went in and carved a section out of the frame; welded in a special plate with predrilled holes to match the Saginaw/Jeep steering gear. A lot of work; but what you would expect from Norval. (Note from his pictures how the steering gear input shaft exactly lines up to the steering column shaft.)

As he describes in this posting, he has the frame heavily reinforced to the point that my concern as to using a cardon joint rather than a flexible coupling has most likely been put to rest. You may recall that the Saginaw flexible coupling was designed to take up flex (fore/aft as well as side to side) between the chassis and body (among other things). A cardon joint takes up angle but not motion. In a steering system such as a C2/C3 Corvette or a first generation Camaro (where the steering column connects directly to the steering gear), that motion would typically be translate to high loadings into the lower bearing in the steering column.

Look at this post and you will see how I did mine.

Jim, How was that avoided in the old vehicles that had the steering column/steering box as one unit? (I'm thinking '50s era trucks.)

My specialty is horses, not cars.

Judging from the blower sticking outta that Vette, he knows a lot about a couple of DIFFERENT types of 'horses!'
