Default another wiper door question

Seems like today is still bad wiper door day, judging from the posts. My saga, which goes back a couple months now, is much like the ones posted today except that my car is a '72 coup. So far, I have replaced every switch and valve in the system, having just this weekend replaced the electrical valve mounted behind the tack. My wipers don't work and the door comes up when the engine starts. My only solution is to recheck every hose where it attaches to a valve or switch. It worked for years, and should again. One thing that I can't find info about is the plastic valve under the door itself that has a vent hose that penetrates back through the firewall into the engine compartment. My vent hose has a small amount of vacuum constantly leaking out the vent hose. Is this correct?

Thanks to all who have helped me over the months.....I hope to get my vett back together and running properly before I die in 20 years or so.

Denny

Check the manual switch under steering colum, I also had an issue with the wipers working but the assembly for the wiper arms was binding try and wiggle it some but dont let it grab ya its hard to reach in and wiggle it.
