Choke Light

What will cause the choke light on an 80 to come on and stay on?

I had the same problem on my 80 and it was a broken wire to the choke,it had actually gotten very brittle from the heat as it was laying against the engine block. I replaced it and the choke light went out.

I"ll give that a try tonight. I have already replaced the choke itself and the relay thanks for your help.

make sure the oil pressure sending switch is OK because the wiring runs thru it so the choke does not get any voltage till the oil pressure come up
