Hood cable snapped, help
My 69 hood release cable snapped and I cannot find any access ports or holes to manually release hood. Can anyone help? I will be greatfull.
Fixed the problem, After I posted problem I read a solution by a member to a previous post. who da thunk it. a coathanger.[

if your hands are thin enough, try to slip you hand in by the left side release mechanism and see if you can grab the cable that way.. or if you are gumby, come at it from the bottom...

I don't know about a 79 mine is a 69. I got the tip from a member.
lay on ground by the side vents, shine trouble light from bottom and look through 2nd side vent. you will see a flang with a hole on it and a coat hanger fits perfect. Pull down and voila...I could'nt believe it, I havent driven it for 5 months.
