CanAm 502 6 link progress
Good news... The CNC plasma cutter is done, Up and running turning out quality parts.
I've settled on some of the details around the 6 link setup.
I'm using Van Steel HD offset trailling arms and Drag Vette halfshaft loops as an integral part of the setup.
Lower bracket and upper inner brackets will be made of 0.125 wall mild steel square/rectangular tubing with some creative work with the CNC plasma cutter to make it look cool.
I'll be using spacers made of 1" x .250 wall DOM tubing to prevent the bolts from crushing the tubing and to locate the rod ends
The upper inner bracket will be welded to the reinforced differerntal carrier (possibly a completely new fabricated assembly). The lower will bolt to the usual place.
The upper outboard bracket will incorporate the aftermarket trailling arms and halfshaft loops. Construction will likely be plasma cut and welded to the trailing arms from 3/16 mild steel.
We're loading the dimensions into Unigraphics to verify the geometry.
I have everything to build this setup in a jig outside the car except a differental crossmember which I'll either buy one and reweld/gusset or fab a new one from rectangular tubing.
