For you guys with L88 headlamps in your 1977 through 1982 C3s, you can fairly easily install a flash-to-pass headlight dimmer switch (if you have a steering column with a dimmer.) You need to purchase a GM dimmer switch with a fourth blade for the flash-to-pass feature. It is available through GM dealers as 26035237. It bolts right in place of your original dimmer switch on the steering column.

Here is the circuit diagram. It requires a wire from the headlight switch to the fourth blade on the dimmer switch.

Now, if you have an older C3 (1969 through 1976) you could swap your original steering column for a later (1977-1982) C3 column with a dimmer switch. Here is a link to a paper on making the installation.

Bump, I am interested in hearing what kind of bulbs are used too. Do you just use the standard size round sealed (or semi sealed) lights.

Does anyone have pics of how the lights attach to that aluminium insert?

Also does anyone with a chrome bumper have pics with these on?

Light is a lot better....H4 halogen over the stock sealed beams...took a while to "line them up", but a definate improvement.
