What are we talking about as far as cost and labour installing A/C in a 73 vette.. Is this feasible ? Cost is not an issue, i just kneed to know what I'm in for.

Aftermarket is easier. Buy a kit and put it on.

Factory-any will work, but get a 78 up outside (evaporator) setup so you don't have to deal with POA valves. You need a 68-76 inside setup so the controls work out better. You will have to enlarge the hole in the firewall a bit, not bad. You have to grind the fan housing just a bit to clear the fender. To do it right you have to take the front end off and add the max air door on the right side (and block the left vent hole, but this is less important). If you aren't scared off and want more info on adding a factory setup, let me know.

GO with the aftermarket compressor (saves weight) polished should run around 240.00 , chrome is 280.00. You will still need lines, dryer, evapaporator and most importantly (brackets). Aftermarket brackets are very difficult to find (most will not clear the hood). I will let you know as I am going through this now.

Hot Rod Air - http://www.hotrodair.com/

$1150 complete & your controls will work with their system. I'm in the middle of an install now. They have to mod a 78 & up control, but have a straight forward way of user moding the 68 - 77 control.

Hey Rat,
How would you like to come to Fla. for a few days, all expenses paid. ?
you don't need a hotel . I have a small apartment over one of the garages and no one lives in it. I can't travel, I'm paraplegic and require a wheelchair out of the car so it's a big hassle for me.
