preliminary speedo shop results
okay, the guy at the shop looked at the two driven gears I have and said they should work fine. He then showed me a worn out drive gear, kind of "cupped" in the middle. The teeth are usually long enough to make contact with the different sizes of driven gears, if it is cupped like the one he showed me, then the smaller diameter driven gears won't make contact with the drive gear. SOOOOO, later on today/tonight I'll have to get a closer look at my drive gear.
he gave me two options, either spend $75 on a ratio/adapter to correct the speedometer w/ the working gear, or I can replace the drive gear ($8-$10 part + tearing the tailshaft off the transmission).....
Im afraid of money and not of work, so I'll probably just replace the drive gear - sounds like the right thing to do anyway.
