speedo doesn't work.
it's a 77, Bought the car today (bargain price)
no needle bouce, just doesn't move at all... is it the cable or the gauge?

there's 6 pieces in the equation.
1. gear in trans- pretty unlikely and a pain to change
2. speedo gear on cable- easy to check. un blot the hold down and pull out. twist the gear and check to see if it is twisting on it or if it hooks in. it's a square drive
3. lower cable- if it looks like steel wool, it's bad.
4 cruise transducer- take the end of the cable and twist it.. if you cant twist it, it's bad.
5. short cable- unlikely that this one goes bad, when you do # 4 and it moves the speedo, #5&6 are good
6. speedo head- the most expensive item in the equation.
start at the bottom and work up!
