Hello,
You should check on the smog laws in your state before you undertake this type of change. I think that removing the catalytic converters is against the law in most of the states.
But IF.....this is for off road use only ( disclaimer ) then you can probably look up what is needed for a 1968 -1974 corvette exhaust system to find out what pipes and cross overs are needed to convert your car. I am looking at several catalogs that say a 10 - 25 hp increase can be realized with various muffler systems. The price of a dual exhaust pipe system from a catalog is only $300 without mufflers and hangers.

I put super turbos from Dynamax on my Vette. Ordered them from Summit racing.com. True duals from Mid American, had to get a muffler shop to weld it together. It sounds pretty good not much roar in the cockpit.
Just put the true duals system from Mid America on My 79 L48 auto
and I noticed a increase in performance even with this low horsepower
combo. The original exhaust system with the front Y pipe and the rear
Y pipe and the old heavy not very efficient cat really choked the 75-
82 cars down. I installed the whole setup from Mid America including
mufflers and they dont sound all that great.Would recommend some other type of muffler.
