I bleed my brakes about twice a year and while I am doing that, I loosen and retighten all of the brake fittings so they don't seize up. I've never used non-seize on the threads.
I've replaced all the brake lines on my 68 with stainless steel lines with stainless steel fittings. I have new brass blocks and a new steel MC/distribution block. My MC has been restored with new internal stainless steel parts. Also, I have all new brake calipers, SSBC aluminum calipers with stainless steel liners.
With all this stuff, I finally decided to use DOT5 brake fluid (silicone). The good thing about silicone is that it doesn't absorb water like DOT 3 and DOT4 does. Hopefully I won't be bothered by rust. (DOT5 has a problem in that you have to be careful installing it. It doesn't absorb water but it does absorb air!) After my first silicone "load," being careful to avoid air bubbles, I have I have a pretty good brake system.
PS; I know there's a little controversy about the use of DOT3/4 and DOT5 (silicone). Anyhow, I decided to go with silicone anyhow. My understanding is that DOT3/4 is easier to use, with respect to getting a hard petal.
