will it pass emissions?
my 79 L82, with new headers, intake manifold, and racing cam, and NO smog pump probably wont pass emissions. i just got catalytic converters for it and they sit probably 3 feet back from the headers. it wont pass emissions with out a new cam and smog pump will it??

Need a little bit more information - do you know exactly what cam is in it?racing cam is a bit generic. What type of Carb?Manifold? With no smog pum, I assume the headers do not have air rails.
Does mesa AZ have a visual inspection as part of the tailpipe inspection?
In Kalifornia that car wouldnt even get to the tailpipe test before it failed.
If you have only tailpie testing then it is possible you could pass, especially with new cats as they do most of the work cleaning up the emissions.

I passed the IL emissions with the mods in my signiture. My Vette has no cats. All the performace parts are smog legal. The engine was re-built and running great. I backed off the timing to about 2 degrees and raised the idle to 1200 rpm. Good luck. :cool:
