Default Neutral Safety Switch

I tore apart my interior including the console and shifter. Taped in a corner under the console is the neutral safety switch evidently gone bad and bypassed. My question is how does it attach to the shifter?

That is the best I could find for the time being. I am planning on tearing apart my console tomorrow so I will try to get a picture for you.

Who in his right mind is going to try to start a car in gear except when it is when you have to. (bad throught bearing car away from home.) been there done that. don't agree with those switches. My 69 will not crank without clutch pedal to the floor (4 speed manual) one thing i don't like about it.

Mine is an automatic and I have found so many things that bubba has messed with on this car that nothing surprises me. I have found parts of a radar detector under the console also. Eventually this will be a nice car.

Lectric Limited has neutral safety switches with the backup light switch for automatics.

Got it figured out. Found two small holes lower right side of shifter and was able to line up old switch and it matched up good. Thanks for the help.

You can't pass tech at any sanctioned track without a functioning neutral safety switch. They're required for all racing if you have an automatic.
