I've been lurking for a couple weeks and finally got up enough nerve to say Hi. I've been a Vette lover for as long as I can remember. My wonderful husband has watched me for 15 years admire every Vette I see so for my early birthday present he bought me my own. He found a beautiful med. metallic blue '73 and I fell in love immediately. I've had it for 3 weeks now and although it's not in the "good mechanical" shape it was represented to us-engine and tranny problems, I still love it. We kinda lost our heads when we saw it and didn't check it good enough. Expensive lesson, but guess that's how you learn. Now I'll have to just sit back and learn from all you wonderful people and some day I'll enjoy mine as you do yours.
Welcome to the Vette World and welcome to the best (by far :D ) forum on the net for Vettes. You and your husband hang here and you can learn everything you need to know.....this place is a fountain of info!!!!
Hey, another woman over here! Look out guys, we're taking over! :p: :p:
Welcome to the forum LuAnn. This place is the best! Everyone here is so helpful and willing to explain stuff. Just put your head into sponge mode and start soalking up the knowledge. You'll have that shark fixed up good as new in no time. And you'll do it all yourself.. with a little help from your friends.
LuAnn, You just described my experience. Check my page. I did the same thing. In March, I bought my Vette. It's my 30th Birthday present to myself. I love my car, and I bought it for very little money. But then I dumped a pile into it. This forum is the best. Any question you have, can be answered here. Also, check out this link: corvettefaq.com It's a great place to start, as it has a ton of useful information for the new Corvette owner. Good luck, and stay in touch.
Welcome, LuAnn. And don't just lurk, ask questions! Whatever problem you've got, somebody on here has probably seen it and knows how to fix it.
And don't feel bad about getting that transient case of Vette-itis. Many of us have similar stories. We bought our '72 as a "mild" project car, and are now in the middle of a full frame-off (for some strange reason, that's the term for body-off) resto/rebuild/upgrade. Hmmm, while I'm in here, how about this. And oh yeah, that. And just when did we decide to take the whole thing apart? Been there ... :yesnod:
Welcome :smash: :smash: I think you'll find that ownership of an older Vette will be a real rewarding experience. There's nothing like cruizing around town or down the highway and getting a "thumbs up". :D
Welcome to the shark waters LuAnn. You are going to love it here. We've all been where you are, so don't be bashful, come on in the water's fine!
Welcome LuAnn, I am sure you will enjoy this forum. This place has really helped me a lot. A lot of great people here too! Looking forward to seeing some pic's of your ride.

Welcome to the shark pond. As said above, lots of great people on here with so much knowledge. No matters how dumb the question seems to you, someone will give you a good explanation of the repair procedure. Bye the way ... if you haven't met Bubba ... you will soon :smash: he's the one that uses coathangers, duct tape and hammers to get things to kinda work.
Hi LuAnn
Welcome aboard. There be sharks here but they don't bite (except Mustangs   ). You're a certified member of the magnificent obsession now. Don't fight it, you can't win. And one word of advice, don't ever be afraid of asking a question. We've all been where you're at and we all know how it feels. You'll find that the people here are the nicest you've met and always willing to help. :seeya
Welcome, and don't feel bad about the condition the car is in. My wife and I did the same thing, but I am definitly enjoying the car, even with the engine out. You'll feel better fixing something your way than guessing how Bubba did it.
