I believe all (full size) L-88 flares sold today are a direct copy of the flares GM sold once upon a time at your local Chevy dealer "over the counter",and yes they did have a part number printed under a layer of resin. The ACI flares are identical to the GM ones sold (quite possibly it was ACI who originally built them for GM) and at $600 (from madvette) they are the best deal out there....F. Gregg lists his at $800....I don`t know where the ZL-1 flare came from as it incorporates the 71 style mud flap but the ZL-1 option was available in 69 so go figure. It was probably Ralph Eckler who grafted a flare on to a quarterpanel and started selling them that way for ease in installation.

The Corvette Image shop also sells the flares. They are $150.00 each.Their catalog sucks,so it's hard to tell just what they look like. They are the company that makes and sells the press molded fiberglass panels. It might be worth giving them a call. They are in the Portland Oregon area.

I went the Red Green route and made mine out of duct tape. Just kidding, I have the mud flap variety on my 80 and did have to mod up my front lowers to fit the 80 front bumper.
Hopefully I'm not stepping on any toes by jumping in this thread.
I'm looking for a bit of help on a set of flairs I have. I have a full set front & rear 4" flairs. They are full quarter & fender not just the flair alone. From the digging I have done they are the non mud flap style as I have seen many describe. The only tag I can find on them is one that says ( Glas-Land Vette Shop ) under that is the name ( Dave Landis ) & ph# 632-6190. This tag is under the glass as commonly done & is only on the front right fender.
Ok so here's my deal. I'm not absolutely sure of the year they are for. By the looks of them they are for late 60's to early to mid 70's I believe. Everything I have ran across so far shows the same part as I have but the listings are never very clear on the specific year. I have seen them listed for late 60's up to late 70's & they all look the same. And being that I'm not a Corvette guy if it's listed as L88 or C3 or others badging I'm not completely sure what year they are referring to.
I'm actually looking to list them for sale, but I'm just not sure of the best way to describe them. It's pretty bad I've done muscle car restoration for 20 years, just never done enough with Vettes to learn much about them.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

I doubt seriously that anyone minds, seeing this thread is nearly 5 years old. Don't have specific knowledge about what you've apparently got, but pictures are worth 1,000 words...
Haha, didn't realize the thread was that old skunkworks. gkull, first love the car looks great. And from your picks they look just like what I have. The way that yours taper in at the rear edge are how mine are compaired to how dry's look like they follow close to the same width all the way to the bottom edge.
I should add that I do know that these are old. At least 20 years or better. So finding the original manufacture probably wont happen. They are in excellent condition & have never been fitted/installed. No cracks, blisters, or yellowing in the glass & still in gel coat. And they look to be a hand laid part not chopped glass. They was my dads that he had tucked away in his garage. I came across them & he told me I could have them, but he can't recall exactly when or what he got them for.
This is with racing rear steel spring of probably 500# with my 12 inch rear wheels and street 335 width rear tires. Both of these Vetes have mid 600 hp 434 ci small blocks. on the wall are different height open wood or phenolic carb thermal heat spacers
George, did you re-body or is this yet another toy? Looks great!
So who makes that spoiler? Custom fabbed?
Yes Please who makes that particular spoiler, I have been looking for the right look and that one is it.......I need to find another one like that one to fab into the body work....
How 'bout home made flairs. I made a fiberglass mold of the upper fender lip contour and removed it. Then cut the factory fender lip off approx. 1 3/4 " back. Then I bonded my templet to the under side with approx. 2 1/2" exposed, then bonded my factory lip back on, extending it out approx. 1 1/4" and 1/2' lower at the lip edge. Thus, my flair is minimal at approx. 1 1/4" extension. My goal is to run a 275x 15" tire on a torque thrust D rim 8 1/2" x 15" with the 3-3/4" backspace. This smaller addition will work well. Note, I only extended the upper 1/2 ish of the fender lip. the factory mudflap area remains intact, as does the front edge by the door area below the belt line. They are installed, but I have to do the finish work; after X-mas....
Note I know pics would help, but it has been so long since I loaded any, i can't remember my pass words, etc. at the bucket site.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
