Can someone tell me a good aftermarket distributor? I am pulling my L82 350 out and storing it complete so I need a distributor and just looking for advice.
100% all new from the cap to gear with a CNC-machined 356 T-6 aluminum upper housing with billet lower housing. Uses high performance Mallory electronics, coil, and a new high performance mechanical advance system that provides higher output for higher RPM capability with quicker response. Direct plug-in replacement with OE factory-type harness connectors. Adjustable vacuum advance installed.
I'd hit the salvage yard, buy an HEI, and rebuild it with quality components. Done it twice, always cheaper than buying same quality complete distributor.

Thanks for the options I never rebuilt one is it hard to do?

The GM HEI runs really well once given a good aggressive advance curve and an appropriate vacuum advance control unit (like the Echlin VC1838). Tough to beat this setup for the money, but the stock systems have very slow advance curves due to emissions standards. Install light springs for a 2500 rpm full-curve advance and run a 16-degree vacuum advance to fix this.
If you want a top-end setup, the MSD ProBillet with an MSD6AL is really a good setup, and will outperform anything on the market if you're running high compression or high rpm. Get one with a vacuum advance if you're running on the street with a moderate cam.
