I am looking to do a top end job on my 350. Most likely to go the edelbrock performer rpm package. First question is will the manifold clear on the BB hood on a small block. Second question is do you guys have any feedback on this top end package or any other.
Thanks, Chick
I've had good results with this combo on my small block ( Performer RPM & Edelbrock carbs) and highly recommend it, but could only fit it under the stock hood (sm. blk.) with a shorter air cleaner (1" tall). Edelbrock warns that this manifold will not clear stock hoods, but some forum members make this work with drop base air filters.
I am running a performer RPM and a 750 Holley with a mild drop base air cleaner and I have plenty of room. I probably have an inch with the stock small block hood.

I am running the RPM Airgap with my BB hooded small block car. I have a drop base aircleaner and only have about 5/32 clearance to the hood with the 3 inch air filter.
I need to know if an Edelbrock Performer (not RPM Performer) will fit under the hood utilizing all the stock cowl induciton parts.
And/or, how much higher will my Q-Jet sit on a Performer than on my stock intake?
Thanks in advance!
Wes
The Edelbrock Performer (not RPM or Air Gap) will fit easily under the stock hood using all stock parts (even the sm. blk. hood). The Air Gap, however, has clearance issues.
