I'd think the 2102, while fairly-mild, would be a decent upgrade, make decent power with the existing compression-ratio and cylinder-heads, not-raise piston-to-valve questions, have good idle characteristics to operate the head-lights, and be compatible with your tall rear-gears:
the 7102, with it's high-lift/long-duration numbers, is very much-more aggressive, but may-not work as-well with your surrounding pieces, and the higher RPM range would suggest it'd like deeper gears and (possibly ) a higher-stall torque converter.
Hi,
My car is a 78 pacecar with the l-48.
I put headers and dual exhaust on.
I then put on a new aluminum intake, cam, and lifters and timing chain. I was able to do this with the engine in. The car felt alot better than stock, but I never took it to the track. Good luck.
