Having problems installing new sunvisor arms.
cant get the retainer on top of the spring to hold, i get it clipped onto the chrome arm from the top, it hold for a couple of seconds then the spring forces it out again.
Anyone else had this problem? Is thair anything else i could use as a retainer, or any other way of securing it?
I had to ask the same question when I did this. Put a small socket over the retainer and give it a gentle with a hammer or mallet. Make sure that you hold the arm from underneath. The retainer will pop down a couple of rings and be there until you cut it off or break the arm.

On mine, the replacement springs were much higher force than originals and the cheap *** clips wouldn't hold. I cut a couple of coils off the new spring (old ones were long gones) then pushed the retainer on using a socket as suggested. Worked fine.
I had to trim my springs down too. Mostly because the replacement arms aren't bent as sharply as the OEM, which means they don't go as deeply into the hole as they should. It also means my sunvisors sit at an odd angle too.
